Rollin' over

What an exciting night, Owen rolled over. He rolled from the front to the back and then got stuck like a turtle on it's back. He tried to continue butwas getting very tired. There was so much build up for it...mike and I were laying on the floor and he was trying so hard to get us and pumping and pushing and....finally. He got us! I took Owen to Mikes work yesterday to show him off to all the girls, finally. I felt horrible that Owen is 5 months old now and I just got around to taking him in. Of course all the ladies loved him.

I left my camera in the car so i will add more pictures later. The other day he was staring at me in the car with this "I am sooo very sleepy" look. (Of course I waited til I got to a stoplight to take a picture, mom! By the next light he was zonked!)

I love the expression on finleys face. "That thing is so wierd!"

Owen's crib...

We put the crib up in my room yesterday to start transitioning him (and me) into sleeping in it. I put him in it to play a bit after we put it together. He enjoyed it! He took a couple of naps in it and did great. I didn't finish attaching the co-sleeper to my bed though and put him in the crib to sleep last night. I was not a fan of him not being visible from my bed. He has been waking up in the middle of the night again lately so I had to get up and try to coax himback to sleep. I think once he is sleeping through the night again I will be better with him sleeping in the crib. Until then...naps in the crib night time in the co-sleeper.

ok, really back to owen!

I have had an itch to go to the coast so we went Saturday to Astoria. I thought it would be fun to get Owen out on the beach and take some pictures. Feel the water and sand etc... he fell asleep on the way and didn't wake up! So we drove up on the beach and got out and played while he slept! I thought about it later that I should have gotten a picture of him asleep in the car and the beach in the background. That would have been funny for the scrapbook! "Owens first trip to the beach!" We took an interesting route to get to Astoria. We went up the interstate into Washington and took a ferry across the Columbia and it put us about 20 min. outside of Astoria. The ferry was a huge build up for very little excitement. We just missed it when we got there so we had to wait about 40 minutes. In this time Bethany was getting way too excited. She just thought it was the coolest thing ever. Kind of reminded us of Dr. Seuss's "Go dog do" (In a car on a boat on the water!!) All that anticipation and we were on the ferry for about 10 minutes! I was not aware of the fact that it was such a short ride until we got there and I myself was a bit let down! It was still fun. Bethany loved it! I took some great pictures with my film camera. I have not been using that nearly enough, it felt good. So basically we spent about 5 hours in the car and got out on the beach for 45 min. It started raining and we were hungry! I at least somewhat got my fix..kindof. I think we are going to go back when my momma gets here. (That is if you want to mom!)
We saw this truck and I had Mike jump out and take a picture of it with the Boondox Market in the background. We got busted taking the picture and the "kid" came over and asked "did you just take a picture of my truck?" quick to reply Mike said "no I have never seen a Boondox before, we took a picture of the sign!" What would he have done if we said yes, I wonder?! I think he had a gun in the back of his truck, it wouldn't in the least surprise me!!!

back to Owen

I can not believe it, I looked at my camera to post some new pictures and I have not even taken any. I know, can you believe it? Bad momma! We have been pretty busy lately and have a really busy next couple of months. My mom will be here in 9 days and then we are going to San Antonio/Austin for a week and we are back for a week a nd then takin off to San Francisco! I have only passed through San Fran so I think it will be a good time. Our friend Becky is moving there and we are going to help here move. (hense the comment from mike about the threat to her cat during the football bantering) Becky and I (and owen of course) are going to take a train there and MIke is going to meet us there with her cat and a small trailer of her stuff! How fun is that? Spen a couple of days helping her get settled in and playing in San Fran. Heather are you up for a road trip? Meet us for an evening?
Then I was thinking about going back to Indy in May. Busy travelin'.

Anywho...enough ramblin'. I will take some pictures today, I promise!

bears vs colts

it almost reminds me of lions and tigers and...bears oh my! All this football banter is a hoot! Especially because i don't really care, it's just kinda fun. I found a picture of Peyton and posted it in mikes room! unfortunatly the only picture is 0f peyton fumblin' the ball. whatever, that is not the point. Mike's reply "get that horse looking. 5head having chokemeister off my mirror!" how do you think mike feels about peyton? anywho mike is trying to challenge me to a bet...any suggestions? He already owes me dinner over bet he lost 2 years ago!

I was not aware of the 2 hoosiers that play for Da Bears. I bet there is so much friction in those families this weekend!

i have become addicted to the soaking tubs at the kennedy school. we went to a matinee on monday and soaked after. we were the only ones in the tub the whole time! grand! I was actually supposed to go to a play day but i only has cross streets and no address or phone number. i could not find the email that had the address :( so i went to the kennedy school instead. figured i was already out, why not!
here are just a few recent pics that i have not put up yet. these little girls were delivered by the same midwives. I met them for a matinee at the kennedy school last week. BTW "stranger than fiction" and "the fountain" were both great movies! i think owen wants to say hi...here we go

photo shoot

I did a photo shoot yesterday morning with owen. I really could have used some help and they would have been alot better but this is what i got. Some cuties. The light could have been a bit better but I am happy witha few of them! I can not wait til mom gets here to help out. She will be here in less than a month, YEAH! Actually just over 2 weeks. She will be here for 2 weeks so expect some great pics! I can not believe how many pics we have of this boy. It is out of control. How do you even begin to organize and make an album out of them? I need to get a bunch printed out and actually start a real baby book instead of everything being digital. (In all that free time, right!)

the misfortune of Rex

So normally I could give a rats ass about football. I do however normally like to watch the superbowl, normally for the comercials and excitement of it all. I do not know or care much about any teams so could care less about who wins. Well the beginning of this football season Mike called it. He said that it was going to be Colts and Bears. Funny, I am from Indiana and he is from Chicago. (for those of you who do not know) So there has been a bit or taunting going on in the household, moreso on his part. He found a picture of Rex Grossman and hung it in the co-sleeper.

So I in turn hung it on the toilet!

Then returned to the co-sleeper.

the weekend

Busy weekend. I made crepes for breakfast so put a "beret" on Owen. CHEESEBALL. I am okay with that!




It was a Bethany weekend and we went to the Kennedy School again to soak in the tubs. It was a hit on everyones part. Bethany loved it and Mike got to swim with Owen and I got to relax! YEAH! It was quite an ordeal actually getting to the point where we were able to swim though. First we didn't have a suit for Bethany so we went to goodwill to try to find something to work since it was on the way. We succeeded It was a Bethany weekend and we went to the Kennedy School again to soak in the tubs. It was a hit on everyones part. Bethany loved it and Mike got to swim with Owennd a mix match short and tank top set! Then we get to the kennedy school and we are walking in and realize we forgot something so were started to go back to the truck and guess what...locked the keys in the truck. (mike locked the keys in the truck rather!) so we had to kill some time till the dude came to bail us out so we went to the restaurant and had a beer and some tots. Finally the guy came so Bethany and Owen and I went to pay to use the tubs so we could get ready and just have MIke meet us in the tub and guess what...adults can't swim without a photo I.D. of course I forgot mine in the other diaper bag last time I went soaking there. All frustrated we went to wait for Mike by the locker eoom and this lovely lady let us in. Me being the "innocent person" I am I felt guilty that we didn't pay and did not feel right about going in the tub. I called Mike and told him the deal and he went and paid for the two of them but I still didn't feel right. I was afraid of getting caught. I know , right. LAME! Anywho with a bit of convincing we all got in the tub and had a great time! It was worth it after all the stress it caused trying to get there! Bethany and Owen were both plum tuckered and fell asleep in the car! Bethany of course holding Owen's hand! How cute.

We also went to Pier Park down the street. It has been extremely nice weather here as of late. I have really been wanting to take advantage of it and spend alot of time outdoors. (I really wanted to go to the coast this weekend but Mike has the stinkin' pager :( I don't really trust my sweet maggie to make it out there all on her own! I guess that is why I have AAA but oh well.)
Anywho we went to the park and Owen and I went down the slide together! We took a better picture of it but it was on the film camera. Ancient I know, yes we still use film!

I was just downsizing the pictures for the blog and I have about 15 pictures to throw up on this thing. There are some pictures of Mike giving Owen a bath and ...what else...Oh yeah Owen absolutly loves the butterfly suncatcher that cousin Emily made for us. There is a picture of him playing with that. Also of Pablo and Henrietta lovin on each other. I thought it was really cute. Can you believe they didn't get along at one time?!? They are in love now!

owen michael's first swim

After the "mommy matinee" at The McMenniman's Kennedy School on tuesday a few of the momma's wanted to take their lil ones for a dip so we took Owen on his first swim in their soaking tub. It was actually a really nice day and the tubs are outside so that was a plus. It was a blast. wen loved it and had a blast. We took a few of the bath toys to play with, although the fate of the rubber ducky is still unknown, it was fun seeing the other babies get excited about toys in the water. here are a few pics of the big adventure.

I did not mention that in the picture below with mike holding the backdrop I am actually behind it holding owen up!!! It makes the picture a bit more funny. adds a bit more dynamic to it!
